I love soft mattresses, but my back unfortunately doesn't - there just isn't sufficient support. So for the past decade or so, I've used a basic Tempur-Pedic mattress, which my back loves, and which I hate. It's hard. I've been on a mission to find a mattress like the VAYA King - one that is clearly plush and soft while at the same time incredibly supportive to give my back the necessary postural support. I think I've found utopia. The moment I lie on the VAYA, I can feel the give - not what I'm used to on the Tempur-Pedic where I feel like I'm sleeping on a carpeted floor. But at no point is my back stressed or in an unusual angle.
We've never had a foam mattress of this size before. We've had smaller ones and they seem to be comfortable to sleep on, but as a California King, thus a replacement for a more standard mattress, it was something new. We are very happy with it! The extra length is perfect for my height (6'4"), and it feels so comfy to sleep on -- both of us are sleeping better than we did on the mattress it replaced!
This hybrid mattress is like sleeping on a cloud. Soft but supportive it is exceptionally comfortable. Unlike some foam mattresses, this one is breathable and bouncy. It arrives compressed and takes about a day to expand to full size. There is almost no motion transfer, you can't feel your partner moving. This is a great value.
